Athens, Georgia is widely known as one of the best college towns in the United States. Its legendary music scene; vibrant arts community; diverse restaurant, nightlife, and retail options; and picturesque, walkable city center adjacent to the University of Georgia’s historic North Campus attract enthusiastic visitors from around the world.

Hotel Accommodations and Transportation
Conference registrants can book accommodation of their choosing and are encouraged to do so as early as possible. Options include:
- Georgia Center Conference Center and Hotel (UGA Campus, 1.3 miles from Downtown Athens)
- Hotel Indigo Athens (Downtown Athens)
- Hyatt Place Athens (Downtown Athens)
Attendees will be responsible for their own travel and lodging for the duration of the ACIS / SOUTH conference. Athens is 1.5 hours away from the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which is the closest commercial airport to Athens, Georgia.

ACIS / SOUTH 2022 is designed to be an in-person event. The organizers will continue to monitor national, and international, regulations on travel constantly, and direct you to the CDC and the US State Department for the latest updates. Please also consult your airline, car rental, or other carrier for additional information. Information on COVID in the state of Georgia can be accessed through the Department of Public Health.

Under current circumstances the conference will run in-person for those who can attend.
All attendees of the conference are encouraged strongly to be vaccinated against COVID, and to wear masks indoors where appropriate.
